महाराजगंज: सिसवा को एक तहसील बनाने के लिए, सिसवा तहसील संघर्ष समिति बनाने के लिए राज्य कृषि मंत्री सूर्यप्रताप शाही और विधान परिषद के सदस्य सी.पी. चंद को सिस्वा को तहसील बनाने की मांग करते हैं। मांग पत्र में, यह कहा गया था कि यहां ब्रिटिश काल के वाणिज्यिक महत्व को देखते हुए, 1871 में सिसवा को टाउन एरिया घोषित किया गया था। आज भी शहर का अपना पेशेवर और शैक्षिक महत्व है। स्वतंत्रता के समय से, सिसवा पूर्वांचल का प्रमुख व्यापार केंद्र रहा है। वर्ष 2010 में, राज्य सरकार ने तत्कालीन आयुक्त रक्षद्र नायक द्वारा गोरखपुर विभाजन में नई तहसील बनाने की सूचना दी थी। तहसील बनाने के लिए कौन सी सलाह दी गई है लेकिन तत्कालीन विधायक के दबाव में तत्कालीन सपा सरकार को लगातार उपेक्षित किया गया। अब सरकार राज्य में बदल गई है। इस पुराने नगर पंचायत को तहसील का दर्जा देने के लिए आवश्यक है। प्रतिनिधिमंडल में, प्रतिनिधिमंडल में अमरेन्द्र मल्ला, श्रीराम शाही, अंशुमन पांडे, विवेक सोनी, रिजवान अंसारी, विश्वजीत चौबे, विकास जैसवाल आदि शामिल थे।
